TTB embarks on global e.marketing

TANZANIA Tourist Board (TTB) has embarked into a global e-marketing campaign by developing a modern destination online tourism portal alongside with establishment of an official Tanzania Tourism App.
Addressing reporters yesterday in Dar es Salaam, TTB Acting Markerting Director Philip Chitaunga said the move is part of the board to make Tanzania as a tourist destination.
He said that the portal was specially meant for supporting all Tanzania tourism firms to easily get in touch with the tourists globally.
“Most of the tourism agencies in the country use partner agencies located abroad to access tourist markets whereby all bookings are done directly through their partner agencies something that eventually causes revenues leakages and creates more benefits to foreigners investors rather than our local agencies,” he lamented.
He said TTB predicts to see over two million tourists visiting Tanzania next year whereby the goal should go together with improving the ways to catch up with the tourists.
“The development of the full tourism value chain will have a significant positive impact on Tanzania’s effort to achieve an even higher level of rapid, sustained and equitable economic growth. As examples around the world show, tourism can contribute significantly to the creation of employment opportunities, particularly for traditionally disadvantaged groups such as women and youth,” he added
“We call upon Tanzanians and those with good wishes for Tanzania wherever they are to continue supporting the effort’s undertaken by TTB in marketing Tanzania and her all tourism attractions,” he said
TTB believes that promoting Tanzania as Africa’s best destination is the role of every single Tanzanian thus calling them to join hands and support Tanzania Tourist Board in its efforts to promote destination Tanzania.
Chitaunga further said that in addition to Tanzania having some of the world’s most renowned tourism icons, the Serengeti and the great animal migration, it has brought status to Tanzania.
He said that apart from the Serengeti and the great animal migration, others are Mount Kilimanjaro, the Ngorongoro Crater as well as the hidden gems of the South, the Selous Game Reserve and Ruaha National Park, where visitors from all over the world are attracted to visit.
