Deputy President William Ruto has sent a reply to CORD leader Raila Odinga’s invitation to join CORD that might as well mean Raila’s Presidential ambition is over.
William Ruto has made it clear that he has a plan that will see him take over from President Uhuru Kenyatta rather than being in a “political forest” like other politicians in CORD.
Speaking in Western Kenya, Ruto said that the reason why Raila will never succeed in politics is because of his gluttonous natue.
Ruto also said that Raila would be the president today if only he had stuck patiently with former president Mwai Kibaki. However, Raila started “disturbing” Kibaki even before 5 years were over.
Ruto now claims Raila Odinga is a political forest destined to stay and wants others to join the bandwagon. However, the Deputy President has insisted that he cannot leave Uhuru’s camp in favor of Raila Odinga’s CORD because he knows what he wants.
“People like Jirongo hate me because I was once his spanner boy in the YP-92. I told him to go slow in the politics and have a plan. Now he cannot believe that his spanner boy is ruling him,” Ruto said.
“The Jamaa ya Kitendawili was given a chance by Kibaki and instead of listening and working with the president, he became too violent and scared away his supporters in central Kenya. Today, he lives in a political forest,” Ruto said.
He added that that it was Kenyatta, Uhuru’s father, who gave power to President Moi for his patience and loyalty, a lesson Raila has refused to learn.
